Weekly Therapy
Monday and Wednesday mornings and evenings, year-round. Ongoing weekly sessions focused on comfort, skills, and outcomes customized to each participant.
At the heart of The Scuba Gym is a simple but powerful mission: to empower individuals with special needs to discover their strength, courage, and limitless potential.
Through SCUBA therapy, we provide more than therapeutic support. We create opportunities for confidence, independence, and achievement that extend far beyond the pool and into everyday life.
We serve individuals ages 8 and up who are living with cognitive or physical disabilities or recovering from injury, meeting each participant exactly where they are and guiding them toward new possibilities.
In the freedom of a weightless environment, barriers fall away. What remains is progress, resilience, and life-changing transformation, one breath at a time.
Watch how The Scuba Gym uses SCUBA as a tool to rehab kids and adults with cognitive and neurological issues.
Every participant comes with a different story, different abilities, and different goals. We build each session around the person in front of us, with a program that respects both where they are now and what they are working toward.
Including Autism, Down syndrome, ADHD, anxiety, and other challenges where focus, calm, communication, and confidence matter.
Including Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, paraplegia, quadriplegia, stroke recovery, and other mobility-centered needs.
Participants recovering from TBI can benefit from the calm, controlled, weightless setting and individualized support in the water.
Physical injuries and neurological injuries can be supported through adapted sessions built around comfort, movement, and meaningful progress.
The underwater environment can help reduce stress, improve breathing control, build trust, and create a more peaceful focus for the participant.
We meet each participant where they are and build a safe, individualized path for special needs and rehabilitation goals of many kinds.
These are the main ways families and participants step into the program today. Each path is built to create support, structure, and progress while still leaving room for joy, connection, and new experiences.

Spring break and summer camp experiences built around fun, community, confidence, and supportive SCUBA-based activities.
Community events and special sessions for participants and families, with room for connection, support, and memorable time together in the water.
Our divers and families have seen powerful changes that carry beyond the pool. The underwater environment gives us a way to work on physical, cognitive, and social growth all at once in a setting that feels freeing instead of limiting.
Over the past 16 years, The SCUBA Gym has allowed people with Special Needs, like Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, Spina Bifida, Paraplegics, Quadriplegics, and all others that have the desire to learn to SCUBA dive, or join us to use it as a tool to heal and be whole again in our SCUBA Therapy and Rehab programs. This is an opportunity of a lifetime to SCUBA dive in a safe environment with skilled, caring, and experienced SCUBA Instructors along with trained Assistants.
The use of SCUBA-assisted full-submersion therapy allows for unique opportunities for people with Special Needs and neurological disabilities in a weightless environment, giving them the ability to increase strength and flexibility not possible during normal workouts on land. We have seen mild to dramatic differences in autistic children. We have seen autistic children concentrate, focus, gain confidence, sleep better, and do things their parents thought they would never do.
We have worked with people with paralysis and helped get them moving and even walking again. Each session is completely individualized to address each person's needs and abilities.
