1. BOGO Scuba Certification
If you have a friend or another family member that would like to get certified with you, we have a BOGO Scuba Certification. For $480 plus tax, you can get certified and your friend or family member can also become your scuba buddy certified for FREE.
Required purchase of 2 students' personal gear from our store: mask, snorkel, fins, booties, SMB (surface marking buoy), and soft weights. Students also receive a 10% student discount.
2. Solo Student Special
If you are getting certified by yourself, we are lowering the price to $380 plus tax right now for the certification with purchase of personal gear from our store.
Personal gear includes: mask, snorkel, fins, booties, SMB (surface marking buoy), and soft weights, with a 10% student discount.
3. Free Basic Open Water Class With Full Gear Purchase
We will give participants a FREE Basic Open Water Certification Class with the purchase of all gear from our store.
This includes purchase of: mask, snorkel, fins, booties, wetsuit, SMB (surface marking buoy), soft weights, BCD, and regulator set with computer, plus 10% off, at SCUBA Quest Orlando.
4. If You Already Have Some Gear
If you already purchased some of your personal gear, the cost is $525 plus tax. However, if you still need anything, we offer a 10% discount on any scuba gear for you.
We offer the above discounts as a way of assisting our students who still need to buy their personal gear. The gear MUST be scuba quality and MUST fit the student.
With All Open Water Certification purchases, students receive eLearning (done prior to classroom), Instruction; day of Classroom, a Pool Session, 2 Days of Open Water, all air tanks, all use of equipment besides personal gear, all park fees, certification card, everything necessary to complete the course. There are no other charges unless the student is unable to perform the skills and needs to return to the pool or at the parks at which time, there will be a pool and/or park fee charge to return to the pool or park. There will not be additional gear rental or other charges, just the fee paid to return to the park/air. The wetsuits we provide for class are 3/2mm and we have sizes from Youth 10 to Men's 2X.
Open Water Certification
Your journey into the underwater world starts here. The Open Water course is the entry-level certification that teaches you the fundamental knowledge, skills, and safety practices needed to dive independently with a buddy in open water environments. This is the most popular scuba certification in the world — and we make it personal, safe, and fun.
Prerequisites
Minimum age: 10–15 years old (Junior Open Water) or 15+ for full certification.
Swimming ability: Comfortable in the water — able to swim 200 yards and Tread water for 10 minutes and a 50ft underwater swim.
Medical: Basic medical questionnaire; physician clearance may be required for certain conditions.
What You'll Learn
Knowledge: Dive physics, physiology, equipment, dive planning, and underwater communication.
Confined Water: Core skills in a pool or pool-like setting — mask clearing, buoyancy control, regulator recovery, and more.
Open Water Dives: Typically 4 open water dives to demonstrate real-world skills.
What to Expect
The course combines self-study and classroom sessions with pool/confined water training and open water dives.
Duration: Typically completed in 3-4 days depending on scheduling (group or private sessions available).
Gear: We provide for the class: BCDs, Regulator Sets, Tanks, and wetsuits (8 Youth through 2XL). Students must provide personal gear: Mask, Snorkel, Booties, Fins, Weights and SMB (Surface Marking Buoy). Students receive a 10% discount on their gear at our Shop.
